Discover the practical framework that's helping Occupational Therapists feel more confident, more intentional and more energised in the way they work

Okay... it's not really about just one session only

Single Session Thinking isn't about limiting therapy to one appointment. It's about approaching every session with the mindset that this interaction matters.

Whether you see a client once or many times, this practical framework helps you create more focused, collaborative and intentional therapy so you can make the most of every opportunity with the people you support.

So...what exactly is The Single Session Club?

The Single Session Club is a live learning community for Occupational Therapists who want to think differently about the way they practise.

Across four interactive workshops, you'll explore the principles of Single Session Thinking through:

  • practical examples
  • reflective discussion
  • evidence-informed learning

You'll be supported with implementation resources, live coaching and a community of like-minded clinicians as you begin applying this way of working in your own practice.

Whether you're supporting clients in private practice, community, hospital or another setting, you'll leave with practical strategies you can start using straight away.

I want to join the club

Why does this matter now?

Therapy has changed. Our approach needs to as well.

As Occupational Therapists, we care deeply about the people we support. We want every family to feel heard, every session to be meaningful and every opportunity to make a difference.

But something about the way many services are set up simply isn't sustainable anymore.

Single Session Thinking offers a practical, evidence-informed way to help you work with greater intention, respond to the changing landscape of healthcare and make the most of every therapeutic encounter.

Learning with Myf Murphy

Hi, I'm Myf.

I'm an Occupational Therapist, researcher, educator and the founder of Hobart WonderingsThe Single Session Club.

For more than 20 years, I've had the privilege of supporting children, families and fellow Occupational Therapists across a range of clinical settings. Along the way, I discovered a different way of thinking about therapy – one that has transformed the way I practise, lead my team and support other clinicians.

Today, I use Single Session Thinking every day.

Not just in one-off appointments, but in longer-term therapy, supervision, case conferences and the way I lead my practice.

I created The Single Session Club to share this practical, evidence-informed approach with other Occupational Therapists who are looking to make the most of every opportunity with the people they support.

I genuinely believe this is a skill set you'll be glad you found - I promise!!!

I can't wait to welcome you into The Single Session Club and explore a different way of thinking about therapy together.

A different way of thinking about therapy

Every session matters

Whether you meet with a client once or many times, every therapeutic encounter has the potential to create meaningful change.

Collaboration comes first

When clients and families feel heard, involved and empowered from the very beginning, better conversations and better outcomes naturally follow.

Work with intention

Single Session Thinking provides a practical framework to help you approach each session with greater clarity, focus and confidence, even when time is limited.

Practical, not perfect

This isn't about squeezing therapy into one session. It's about using practical, evidence-informed strategies to make every session as meaningful as it can be.

The single session four session course that I did with Myf has been the missing skill that I needed in order to assist families and children I work with to focus on what really matters.

The single session framework and interviewing techniques taught me how to actually implement and guide families so that it was intensely relevant from their perspective but not so loose as to leaving me burnt out because I didn't have a framework to capture all the various relevant concerns that came up and inevitably changed week week. Because that's life. Week to week changes on what is the goal for a child and family.

I now know I can meet them where they are at without having a long-term goal that loses its relevance and using the single session techniques / discussion skills and framework, I can still use my clinical reasoning and therapeutic lens by guiding with authentic advice in the appropriate way so it is not too much or too little therapeutic input at any given time.

I am an experienced therapist and these skills were not taught and I now have the framework and skills to be truly client centred.

Myf, your experience and passion for Single Session Therapy ensured I felt supported to learn and implement these new skills.  Thank you so much, from an OT who was heading into burn out, and is now not burnt out, thanks to Single Session work.
